Activity 4 – Food Storage

Activity Overview

Food Storage Activity: Minimising food waste is important for our planet and our pocket, this fun card matching game helps you learn how to store food safely in the fridge or freezer. It teaches what can and can’t be frozen, how long food lasts, and what can go wrong if it’s not stored properly.

How to Play

The deck contains a set of cards with different food types and information about storing them safely, a green true card and a red false card.
Your task is to read the provided information – tools for storage, how to store and storage time.

You have to decide whether all of the information is true or false. If true, you must stack the card on top of the green true card.

If any of the information statements are false, you must stack the card on top of the red false card.
Once you used all the cards to create 2 piles, you can flip the cards to see if you stacked it under the right pile – if the backside says correct with a green border,
it means all the information was true and it belongs to the green true pile.

If the backside gives an answer with a red border, it means it is the corrected information, and it belongs to the red false pile.
(Please note, only the false information from the card would be corrected here)
