The science of self-defence
Self-defence is self-preservation. Your best asset is your will to survive and detect. Self-defence begins with awareness and avoidance. Think of self-defence as managing distance. The further you are away from your threat the easier it is for you to escape. In comparison to martial arts that primarily focus on defeating your opponent under a set of rules and etiquette, creating a habit of trying to defeat your attacker when in self-defence terms, the main objective is to get away quickly and safely.
At the end of the day, there are no guarantees, but learning the basics of personal safety and self-defence are always worthwhile!
Within section 1 you’ll be taught personal safety strategies to raise your own awareness and to understand what is under your control to decrease your exposure to an attack. You will understand personal space and how to protect it.
